Artisan Village Cayenne Turquoise 3'00"x5'00" Hand-Knotted India Wool/Viscose
Taking notice of the tall buildings in the city, Sajna draws inspiration from the illusion created with the positioning of the buildings behind one another. She uses vibrant colours in her rug to demonstrate this animation she has observed in the city life. She calls her rugs “complex” which she believes means shopping mall in the city, a place which was out of the ordinary for her. In the border of the rug, she draws small boxes, through which she tries to convey the contrast and simplicity that exists in her small village.
